What is sound healing or sound therapy?

Sound therapy is an ancient therapeutic technique that uses tonal frequencies to balance and harmonize the body's vibrations. Sound healing, often known as a sound bath, involves sitting or lying on the floor or yoga mat, snuggled up against a warm blanket, and simply listening to a practitioner play various instruments while "bathing" in soothing sounds and vibrations. Sound frequencies then induce a deep regenerative state in the brain and activate the body's self-healing system.

The instruments we use in the session are gongs, tibetan bowls, singing bowls, drums and tuning forks. I also have various stringed instruments, flutes and a didgeridoo. Sometimes we invite guest musicians to a session to offer a richer range of sounds. Almost any instrument can be used in sound healing if used with the right intention. Each tool has its own distinct function. For example, the tones of the seven chakras are tuned into crystal bowls. Cultivation energy is believed to help the body relax and stimulate the glandular and neurological systems.

Our sound healing will leave you relaxed, renewed and energized.
